Mind’s Uncharted Wastelands

Art Exhibit @Corner26 (Feb 15-March 15, 2025)

Just like the overarching theme of this show, i have learned to trust the uncertainty.

The surrealism of my narratives and works is partly a confession of ignorance, an acknowledgement that life is weird and mostly undiscovered. It’s okay to be uncertain, puzzled and not have all the answers.

often think of the mind as a structured place, a city of knowledge, carefully built from experience, logic, and memory. But outside that city lies something less familiar, less controlled. A place where thoughts don’t follow neat roads but scatter like tumbleweeds.

We do not often venture there—not because it is truly empty, but because it does not offer the comfort of easy answers.

Yet, history shows us that every great discovery—scientific, artistic, or personal—comes from those willing to step beyond the familiar into the unknown.

But why do we hesitate? Why do we avoid these places within ourselves?

Because the wasteland is uncomfortable. It forces us to confront our uncertainties, our unfinished thoughts, our failures. It demands that we sit with discomfort, with ambiguity, with the realization that not everything in life can be mapped or neatly explained.

That’s where i felt giving them a safe place.

A place for them to be found.

And yet, if we dare to explore, what might we find? A forgotten dream, buried beneath years of routine? A new perspective, hidden in the ruins of old beliefs? Perhaps even a piece of ourselves we lost along the way.

So I ask you: When was the last time you wandered through your own mental wastelands?
